Content Analysis
Postlytic analyzes your LinkedIn post content using deterministic rules based on best practices:
- Length: Optimal posts are 150-300 words
- Call-to-Action: Posts with CTAs see 2-3x more comments
- Questions: Questions increase engagement by 50-100%
- Hashtags: 3-5 relevant hashtags maximize discoverability
- Structure: Well-formatted posts with paragraphs and lists perform better
Each post receives a Quality Score (0-100) based on these factors, along with prioritized recommendations for improvement.
Performance Metrics
Growth Rates
Calculated as the change in reactions or comments divided by the time elapsed between snapshots. Expressed as reactions/comments per hour.
Comment-to-Reaction Ratio
The ratio of comments to reactions. Higher ratios indicate stronger engagement and discussion.
First 60 Minutes Strength
A score (0-100) based on performance in the first hour after publishing. Formula: (reactions/100 × 70) + (comments/10 × 30), capped at 100.
Momentum Score
Weighted combination of growth rate (50%), engagement ratio (30%), and recency (20%). Scores range from 0-100, with higher scores indicating stronger momentum.
Velocity Curve
Shows the delta (change) in reactions and comments between consecutive snapshots, helping identify growth patterns and engagement spikes.
Decay Curve
Identifies when post growth slows down. Calculated using linear regression on recent snapshots.
Best Practices
Snapshot Frequency
For best results, capture snapshots at these intervals:
- Immediately after publishing
- 1 hour after publishing
- 6 hours after publishing
- 24 hours after publishing
- 48 hours after publishing
- Weekly thereafter for long-term tracking
Data Accuracy
Always verify your snapshot data matches LinkedIn's actual numbers. Accurate data ensures reliable metrics and insights.
Using Benchmarks
Create benchmark groups to compare posts against your historical performance. This helps identify trends and improvement areas.
